Mohanlal Returns With a Mighty Father–Son Epic in ‘Vrusshabha’ This Christmas

Mohanlal is all set to dominate the big screen this Christmas as the much-awaited trailer of Vrusshabha was unveiled in a spectacular launch event in Kochi on December 16. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric as thousands of Lalettan fans celebrated the arrival of what promises to be one of the biggest Pan-India releases of Christmas 2025.

The event brought together the film’s stellar team — Mohanlal, Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, and Nayan Sarika, along with director Nanda Kishore. Also present were producers Varun Mathur, Abishek S. Vyas, and Sanjay Dwivedi of Balaji Telefilms, adding scale and star power to the launch.

2025 continues to be Mohanlal’s year, with the superstar delivering back-to-back successes and earning global appreciation. The trailer of Vrusshabha only strengthens that momentum, presenting Lalettan in a grand, emotionally layered dual role that spans eras, destinies, and lifetimes.

At its heart, Vrusshabha is a deeply emotional father–son saga, exploring themes of love, sacrifice, karma, and fate. The film unfolds across two timelines. In the flashback portions, Mohanlal appears as the mighty King Vijayendra Vrusshabha — regal, intense, and commanding. In the present day, he plays a successful businessman burdened by visions from a past life. His son, played by Samarjit Lankesh, finds himself caught in the mysterious spiritual pull that binds them across time.

The trailer teases high-octane action, dramatic confrontations, and visually stunning sequences. Ragini Dwivedi appears in a fierce, action-packed avatar, while Nayan Sarika, Ajay, and Garuda Ram add strength to the ensemble.

Producer Ektaa R. Kapoor expressed her excitement, calling Vrusshabha a true big-screen experience and an important milestone in Balaji Telefilms’ Pan-India journey. She praised Mohanlal’s unmatched screen presence and sincerity, emphasizing how the film blends scale, emotion, and powerful performances.

Director Nanda Kishore called the story “a connection of hearts across time,” adding that working with Mohanlal was a dream come true. He highlighted the actor’s humility, discipline, and fearlessness — including performing his own action sequences. The director also spoke highly of newcomers Samarjit Lankesh and Nayan Sarika, describing them as rising talents audiences will notice.

The film features top-notch technical work, including music by Sam C.S., sound design by Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty, and dialogues by SRK, Janardhan Maharshi, and Karthik. Action choreography is handled by Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, Ganesh Kumar, and Nikhil, ensuring grand, high-impact sequences.

Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Telugu, and releasing in Hindi and Kannada, Vrusshabha is positioned as a massive Pan-Indian spectacle celebrating the unbreakable bond between a father and son.
