Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series is reportedly set to follow a slightly different launch timeline this year. According to recent reports, Apple could unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at a special event on September 9, 2026.
The company is also expected to introduce its first foldable iPhone alongside new Apple Watch models at the event.
iPhone 18 Pro Pre-Orders: Reported Date
Apple typically opens pre-orders for its new iPhones shortly after the launch event. However, this year’s schedule could see a change.
According to a Forbes report, pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could begin on September 12 at midnight Pacific Time. This would translate to 3 am Eastern Time and 8 am in the UK.
The reported change may be linked to September 11, which marks the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks in the US. However, Apple has not officially confirmed the reason behind the reported change or the pre-order date.
What About Apple’s Foldable iPhone?
Apple’s much-anticipated first foldable iPhone is also expected to make its debut around the same time. However, reports differ on when the device will actually become available for purchase.
While some reports suggest that the foldable iPhone could go on sale alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models, others indicate that its pre-orders could begin later in September.
More details are expected to emerge during Apple’s official launch event.
iOS 27 Release Date
Apple is also expected to roll out iOS 27 around the launch of the new iPhone lineup.
Reports suggest that the software update could arrive around September 14, although Apple has yet to confirm the exact date.
iOS 27 is expected to support several existing iPhone models that are compatible with iOS 26. However, some of the operating system’s advanced features could remain exclusive to newer iPhone models because of their hardware requirements.
When Could the iPhone 18 Pro Go on Sale?
If the reported timeline is accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could become available for purchase from September 18, 2026.
Apple could begin retail sales at its stores at around 8 am local time, following its usual launch-day schedule.
Reviews of the new iPhone models are also expected to arrive before the devices go on sale, with reports pointing to September 15 or 16 as a possible review date.
For now, September 9 for the launch event, September 12 for pre-orders and September 18 for retail availability remain reported dates and have not been officially confirmed by Apple.
The company’s September 9 event is expected to provide clarity on the final launch and availability timeline.
