UP Man Kills Parents After Clash Over Marriage, Money; Dismembers Bodies, Throws Them in River

A shocking double murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district has revealed a disturbing story of family conflict, forbidden marriage, financial strain, and a horrifying attempt to hide a crime. Police have arrested 37-year-old Ambesh Kumar, who allegedly murdered his parents, dismembered their bodies using a saw, and dumped the remains in the Gomti river at two separate locations.

According to police, Ambesh, an engineer by profession, had been living in tension with his parents for years due to his marriage. He had married a Muslim woman, against his family’s wishes, and had two children from the relationship. His parents reportedly pressured him to end the marriage, and the relationship between them remained strained.

Sources said that when the marriage began facing difficulties and Ambesh separated from his wife, he was required to pay alimony and child support. He allegedly asked his father for money, but the request was refused — leading to heated confrontations at home. Investigators believe this escalating conflict, combined with long-standing resentment over his marriage, became the trigger behind the brutal killings.

The Night of the Crime

Police say that on the night of December 8, Ambesh attacked his mother, Babita (60), using a grinding stone inside their home in Ahmadpur village under Jafarabad police station limits. When his father, Shyam Bahadur (62), rushed to save her, he too was attacked repeatedly until he died on the spot.

In an attempt to destroy evidence, Ambesh allegedly used a saw to cut the bodies into multiple pieces, stuffed them into sacks, and threw the remains into the Gomti river to avoid detection.

A Calculated Cover-up

To avoid suspicion, Ambesh stayed out of contact for six days, switching off his phone while relatives grew increasingly worried about the missing couple. He returned to Jaunpur only on December 16. Relatives lodged a missing complaint, and when Ambesh could not give clear answers during questioning, police pressed him harder. He eventually confessed to the murders, according to officials.

Search Operation Underway

Following the confession, police launched a large-scale search along the Gomti river, deploying 40 divers and rescue teams to recover the remains. Senior officers, including the City ASP and Circle Officer, are personally supervising the operation.

The case has sent shockwaves through the region, underlining a tragic mix of domestic conflict, broken relationships, financial pressure, and violence that spiraled into one of the most gruesome murder cases of the year.
