An Indian expatriate living in the UAE received a life-changing surprise after opening a savings account with Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB). Just weeks after becoming a customer, 34-year-old Shajeer Venga won AED 2 million (approximately Rs 5.15 crore) through the bank’s Millionaire Campaign.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Shajeer had opened his account through the SIB Digital App less than two months before his name was drawn as the grand prize winner during a raffle held at the bank’s main branch.
According to reports, Shajeer had long been aware of the bank’s savings campaign and hoped to win someday, but he never expected it to happen so soon.
Expressing his excitement, he said the prize money would have a significant impact on his future plans and help him bring his family from India to live with him in the UAE.
