Mumbai-based content creator and former national-level athlete Sameeksha Takke, popularly known as the ‘Atrangi Womaniya’ of social media, was recently in England covering the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, offering fans a glimpse into the tournament that extends far beyond the action on the field.
A former competitive cricketer with over a decade of experience, Takke trained at the same grounds that produced stalwarts Sachin Tendulkar and Ajinkya Rahane.
Her work with Star Sports during multiple IPL seasons and as host of Mumbai Indians’ digital show MI Live has helped establish her as a respected voice in cricket content.
At the World Cup, Takke leveraged that credibility to gain rare access to some of the game’s biggest stars.
Her videos ranged from candid conversations with Jemimah Rodrigues and interactions with Australian veteran Ellyse Perry to trend-based content featuring all the participating captains.
Through childhood memories, behind-the-scenes moments and light-hearted challenges, Takke was seen presenting players as personalities beyond their statistics.
She was also present at Edgbaston for the high-profile India-Pakistan clash, where Smriti Mandhana’s 68 and Deepti Sharma’s historic five-wicket haul powered India to a commanding 64-run victory.
While the scorecard captured the result, Takke’s content focused on the atmosphere, emotions and stories surrounding one of the tournament’s marquee encounters.
Speaking about the experience, Sameeksha Takke said, “Having played cricket myself, I’ve always believed that the sport is as much about the people as it is about the performances.
At the Women’s T20 World Cup, my aim has been to showcase the emotions that fans don’t always get to see on television. I wanted to bring audiences closer to the human side of the game and celebrate the incredible talent that continues to elevate women’s cricket globally.”
With collaborations involving Harmanpreet Kaur, Radha Yadav, Hayley Matthews, Lauren Bell and Shreyanka Patil, Takke is building one of the most comprehensive and intimate digital chronicles of a Women’s World Cup by an Indian creator, helping bring women’s cricket and its personalities closer to fans around the world.
