Security agencies have uncovered fresh links to Uttar Pradesh in a major operation against a Pakistan-backed terror network allegedly directed by operatives associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The investigation has revealed that several suspects arrested in recent weeks had connections to districts in western Uttar Pradesh and were allegedly involved in reconnaissance, recruitment, and logistical support activities.
According to officials, the network was operating through social media platforms and encrypted communication channels to establish contact with individuals in India.
Investigators claim that handlers based across the border used these networks to recruit young people, gather intelligence, and coordinate the movement of illegal consignments.
The probe has pointed to the involvement of suspects from areas including Ghaziabad and nearby regions of Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities allege that some members of the network conducted surveillance of crowded public places and sensitive locations before sharing photographs and videos with handlers in Pakistan.
Officials say the operation has prevented potential terror-related activities and exposed a broader cross-border network that combined criminal operations with espionage and terror planning.
During raids, investigators recovered weapons, ammunition, communication devices, and financial records that are now being examined for further leads.
Security agencies continue to investigate whether the network had additional operatives in other states and are working to identify any remaining members linked to the alleged conspiracy. The crackdown is being viewed as a significant breakthrough in efforts to counter cross-border terror and espionage activities.
