A dramatic scene unfolded in Jaipur on Monday when Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke was allegedly assaulted during a protest against NEET paper leaks, education-related issues, and rising unemployment. The incident, which was captured on camera and has since gone viral on social media, occurred while Dipke was participating in a demonstration at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur.
The protest was part of a nationwide campaign announced by the Cockroach Janta Party following a demonstration in Delhi on June 6.
The organization had warned that similar protests would be held across the country unless Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned over alleged failures related to examination leaks and concerns surrounding the education system.
Videos from the Jaipur protest show Dipke being carried on the shoulders of supporters when a man suddenly grabbed him by a cloth draped around his neck.
Moments later, the individual, along with another person, allegedly slapped and struck Dipke several times. The attackers were quickly confronted by supporters of the CJP, leading to a chaotic situation at the protest site.
Despite the attack, Dipke maintained a calm stance and reiterated his commitment to non-violent activism. In a statement shared on social media platform X, he condemned the violence and said that such actions would not weaken the movement.
He emphasized that he follows the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and would continue to fight peacefully for educational reforms and accountability.
“Physical attacks are a sign of fear and cowardice. We will continue to raise our voices peacefully,” Dipke wrote, while once again demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
According to police officials, six individuals have been detained and are currently being questioned at Vidhayakpuri Police Station. Authorities said the identities and motives of those involved are still being verified. Investigators are examining video footage and eyewitness accounts to determine the complete sequence of events.
Officials also revealed that the organizers had initially not received permission for the protest. However, a conditional approval was granted later, allowing the event to proceed with specific restrictions, including a cap on the number of participants.
The incident has sparked fresh debate on political activism, public safety, and growing frustration among students and youth over examination irregularities and unemployment concerns.
