Former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been acquitted in the sexual harassment case filed by several women wrestlers. On Monday, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court cleared both Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar of all charges.
The case dates back to 2023, when several women wrestlers accused Brij Bhushan of sexual harassment, triggering nationwide protests and sparking a major debate on athlete safety and accountability in Indian sports. Following the allegations, the Delhi Police registered cases and conducted an investigation before filing a chargesheet in court.
After hearing arguments from both sides over the course of the trial, the Rouse Avenue Court delivered its verdict, acquitting Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar of all charges.
The judgment marks a significant legal development in one of the most high-profile controversies in Indian wrestling in recent years.
